County Jail

Five people were booked into the Putnam County Jail recently.

* At 11:20 a.m. on Tuesday, Daniel Suggett, 52, no city listed, was arrested on a traffic warrant.

At 12:52 p.m. Jennifer Lynn Tafoya, 39, Indianapolis, was charged with conspiracy to commit theft.

At 12:54 p.m. Justin Phillip Delp, 26, Cloverdale, was lodged at the jail on a burglary warrant.

* At 9:15 a.m. on Wednesday, Timothy Joseph Conover, 24, Greencastle, was booked in for failure to appear.

At 9:50 a.m. Christopher Michael Dollar, 27, Lizton, was lodged at the jail for probation violation.

Cloverdale Police

The Cloverdale Police Department made the following arrests recently.

* At 8:20 p.m. Friday, Shelly Nail, 52, Martinsville, was arrested for operating while intoxicated, possession of methamphetamine and possession of paraphernalia.

Officer Ken Shepherd responded to a call for a possible domestic disturbance. It was reported Nail was driving up and down Lafayette Street, squealing the vehicle's tires and running stop signs.

She later left the car and began walking. She was later located by Officer Shepherd and admitted to drinking and driving.

* At 1 a.m. Saturday, Robert Howard, 55, of Cloverdale, was arrested for resisting law enforcement, operating while intoxicated and being a habitual traffic violator. He also had outstanding warrants for being a habitual traffic violator, misdemeanor operating while intoxicated and felony operating while intoxicated.

Officer Mark Hoppus observed Howard on a motorcycle and was aware of a warrant for his arrest. Howard was swerving and speeding on the motorcycle as well.

Once stopped, it was determined Howard was intoxicated.

* At 4:30 a.m. Saturday, Justin W. Lewis, 27, Rockville, was arrested for operating while intoxicated.

Officer Hoppus had been working with two other incidents early Saturday morning and when he stopped at the Marathon in Cloverdale, the clerk advised Lewis had just drive away from the establishment and was intoxicated. Officer Luke Brown was contacted regarding the information, so he located Lewis and arrested him.

* At 5 a.m. Monday, Lonnie R. Boyce, 41, of Cloverdale, was arrested for operating while intoxicated and being a habitual traffic offender.

Officer Jake Eagan observed Boyce turn from Stardust Road to U.S. 231 and accelerate rapidly, causing the items in the back of his truck to fall onto the roadway. Eagan initiated a traffic stop regarding the items in the road and found Boyce was intoxicated.

CPD issued the following citations.

* Keaton D. Hudson, 24, Paragon, was cited for failure to stop at a through highway where a stop sign is erected.

* Steven W. Naughgle, 27, Cape Canaveral, Fla., was cited for speeding. He was traveling 45 mph in a 30 mph area.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department assisted with three medical runs and responded to several other dispatches recently.

* At 10:07 a.m. Wednesday, GFD responded to 736 Northview to assist with a gas leak. A gas line was struck by construction workers and the department assisted with the evacuation of a small area until the line could be dug up and shut off.

* At 12:28 p.m. Wednesday, GFD investigated a fire alarm at 301 E. Seminary St. The alarm was caused by cooking.

* At 9:32 a.m. Thursday, GFD assisted with a multiple vehicle accident at the intersection of Putnamville Street and Veterans Memorial Highway. The department assisted Operation Life at the scene and cleaned up the roadway.

* At 11:57 a.m. Thursday, GFD investigated a fire alarm at 412 S. Jackson St. The alarm was caused by cooking.

Individuals listed in the blotter have been arrested on probable cause and have not been formally charged. Charging information may change after an initial arrest.
