Savannah Jones

Savannah Jones was born on June 12, 1997 to Teresa and Scott Jones. She has three sisters.

Jones plays volleyball and softball at Cloverdale High School and is also in FCA, Student Council, National Art Honor Society and is a representative for the United Way of Putnam County. Her favorite books are written by Nicholas Sparks and she enjoys watching Pretty Little Liars. She enjoys History and Jamie Steffy.

BG: Do you feel different now that you're a senior on the team?

Savannah Jones: It has its stressful moments but also has its joyful and exciting moments.

BG: What are your individual goals and your team goals this year?

SJ: Individually I have always aspired to be better for my team, Be more motivational for everyone and keep everyone cheered up. I'd love to win county, because we haven't won county since freshman year. I'd love to have that patch. Sectional is a really big thing for us this year and honestly to become closer as a team.

BG: When did you start playing?

SJ: I started in the fifth grade in intramural. I've always loved volleyball, always my passion.

BG: What is your favorite thing about the sport?

SJ: The teamwork. Once the teamwork goes everything goes. You can't do it by yourself.

BG: How much of an impact have your teammates had on you this year?

SJ: A ton. There's never been a time I had a sad face and no one's came up to me and said something. They are always cheering me on. Making sure I'm ready. Same goes for me and others.

BG: What are some life lessons you have learned from sports?

SJ: That when you get down on yourself there are other people up pick you up.

BG: Who are your biggest supporters out here?

SJ: Definitely my family.

BG: What is it like having a support group like that?

SJ: It's amazing. It's something that I know a lot of people don't have. I'm very thankful and blessed for it.

BG: What has been your fondest memory of participating in sports?

SJ: Probably freshman year winning county. It was something we are all hungry for. We really worked together to get that. It was our three-peat. It was a big exciting thing.

BG: What are your plans for after high school?

SJ: I plan to go to college. I'm undecided but I'm leaning toward USI to become a neonatal nurse. I've always loved kids. I've seen so many movies and heard life stories. I've always wanted to help.
