Cougars down Eagles on road

South Putnam's volleyball team is still looking for a spark after North Putnam visited the Eagles Thursday and came away with the victory in four games.

After handling the Eagles in the first, North Putnam lost 25-23 before earning the close win 27-25 and winning 25-14 in the final game.

Taylor Nauert was the threat offensively for the Cougars. Nauert earned 25 kills while Adri Millican netted six aces.

Lyndi Parent continued her good play with 30 assists.

The Eagles, who are looking at an Owen Valley match on Wednesday before a game with Cloverdale Thursday, were led by Miranda Bieghler with 10 assists, six digs and three aces. Katie Hewitt earned her team 10 digs.

Lillie Stein also earned seven digs.

North Putnam pushes its record to 7-5 and the Cougars look forward to Rockville on Thursday.
