BRAZIL -- Greencastle soccer teams took a pair of matches from WIC rival Northview on Thursday.

The Greencastle girls broke a scoreless halftime tie to win 2-1, while the boys erased a first-half deficit before winning 4-2.

In the girls' match, Amelia Smith got Greencastle on the board first with a goal with 35:03 to go in the second half. Erin Thomas padded the lead and ultimately provided the difference with her goal 14 minutes later.

A late Northview goal made things interesting at the end but the Tiger Cubs held on.

In the boys' match, Northview took a 1-0 lead with 10:03 to go in the first half when Ashton Rollo scored. However, Kevin Polster tied it up with 2:11 remaining before the half.

Polster gave GHS a lead it didn't relinquish with his second goal with 35:45 remaining. Justin Hartman added a pair of goals of his own, meaning the Knights never goat closer than a two-goal deficit.

Both teams return to the pitch with 5:30 p.m. matches on Tuesday. The girls visit Terre Haute South, while the boys travel to Southmont.
