Indiana State Police

A 29-year-old Indianapolis man is being held at the Putnam County Jail on three charges after Indiana State Police officers spotted him behind the wheel of a suspicious vehicle Tuesday night.

About 10:40 p.m., Troopers Kyle Hall and James Crisp stopped at the Marathon Convenience Mart on State Road 243 just south of Interstate 70, when the officers noticed a suspicious vehicle and male occupant as they entered the lot, and decided to investigate further.

A registration check revealed the Chrysler 300 passenger car had been reported stolen on Aug. 18 to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police and the driver, Larry D. Criscillies, did not have a valid driver's license.

Criscillies, Indianapolis, was then taken into custody and transported to the Putnam County Jail, facing charges of auto theft, possession of stolen property and being a habitual traffic violator.
