Mansfield Roller Mill to celebrate with cornbread, beans at Sept. 12 festival

MANSFIELD -- The historic Mansfield Roller Mill will stage its Cornbread and Beans Day Celebration in the village of Mansfield on Saturday, Sept. 12.

The event will be conducted in and around the mill from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The throwback celebration of summer's end is expected to be much bigger than previous celebrations.

This year's event features a larger lineup of musical acts, including country, bluegrass, folk and blues. Returning this year is local band Country Express, who will perform old country and bluegrass from 1-2 p.m. They will be joined by several other local musical acts throughout the festival.

A cornbread and beans dinner will be provided by Raccoon State Recreation Area staff and volunteers.

Visitors are invited to explore the mill's three stories, which contain original 1880s equipment.

Mansfield Roller Mill is located at 6089 S. Mill Rd. in the southeastern Parke County hamlet.
