Defenders of Liberty to hear A.K. Fielding Monday night

A. K. Fielding, historian, writer, artist, illustrator and educator, will be the speaker at the Greencastle Defenders of Liberty meeting on Monday, Sept. 14

The 6:30 p.m. meeting will be held at the Putnam County Airport, Dixie Chopper Business Center, 102 Ballard Lane, Greencastle.

Fielding will discuss the contribution of our Founding Fathers and why it is crucial for Americans to preserve their legacy.

Fielding writes about the American Revolution and early Republic. She is the author of "A Little Book of Revolutionary Quotes: God, Guns and Government," "A Little Book of Revolutionary Quotes: Tyranny, Taxes and Treason" and "A Little Book of Revolutionary Quotes: Virtue, Valor and Vice."

She also illustrated Benjamin Franklin's "Poor Richard's Almanack" for kids. Her articles on American history have appeared on the Journal of American Revolution, Hoosier Heritage Magazine, Illinois Heritage Magazine, Molly Green Magazine and her blog.

Her art has appeared in galleries and national and international publications.

The public is invited to attend this and all monthly meetings of the Greencastle Defenders of Liberty.

The organization has featured congressmen, state legislators, the local sheriff, physicians, educators, authors, businessmen, military and a radio talk show host in the nearly six years of meetings on the second Monday of every month. The main purpose is to educate the public on important issues affecting all Americans.

A special invitation is extended to the youth of the area.
