Transformers host education seminar

Sunday, September 13, 2015

Putnam County Transformers will be hosting the annual education seminar Sept. 24 in conjunction with Poverty Awareness Week.

It will be at DePauw University's Janet Prindle Institute for Ethics from 8:30-11:30 a.m. Registration opens at 8 a.m. with a continental breakfast offered by Bon Appetit.

The focus of Transformers is to build bridges for a better future, whether it is the future of individuals, families, businesses or the Putnam County community as a whole.

The educational seminar is opened to the public, but this year's presentation titled "Welfare to Career" will be of special interest to educational institutions, industries and businesses.

Cascade Engineering Director of Talent Management David Barrett will be this year's presenter. He will be discussing the importance of "building a culture of reduced turnover and increased employee pride."

Putnam County employers are encouraged to attend Barrett's presentation to learn about becoming an "employer of choice."

Following the Chamber of Commerce luncheon at the Inn at DePauw, Barrett will be visiting local businesses.

To arrange a visit by Barrett, contact Judi Purvis at judi.purvis@inumc.org

There is a $40 registration fee for the seminar, which is to be made payable to Gobin Memorial United Methodist Church and mailed to Transformers P.O. Box 66, Greencastle, IN 46135.
