Carroll Buel 'C.B.' Hammond

C.B. Hammond, 92, of Indianapolis, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 10, 2015 at Marquette Manor.

He was born and raised in Greencastle, the son Hugh and Katie Hammond. His parents and his sisters Mary Lou Thompson and Janet Ingersoll predeceased him.

C.B owned Hammond Jewelers of Greencastle for many years. C.B. served in the Navy during World War II.

He was a 33rd degree Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite. He was a kind and passionate man, an excellent golfer and enjoyed gardening.

He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Marilynn Hammond. C.B. was extremely devoted and proud of his two sons, Craig (Candice) of Greenfield and Kirk (Tamsin Kelly) of La Jolla, Calif., and his daughter, Annette Hammond of Denver, Col.

Eight grandchildren, Bret, Thad, Nick, Andrew, Tali, Shura, Jeff and Kelly, also survive him. His great-grandchildren are Aiden, Adelaide and Amelia.

The family will have a private service at Marilynn and C.B.'s residence. He will be sorely missed and loved by all.
