Wayne Merriman

Wayne Merriman, 82, formerly of Quincy, passed away Sunday, Sept. 13, 2015 at Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis.

Born March 7, 1933 in Brown County, Ind., he was the son of the late Clarence and Hallie (Fleener) Merriman.

He married Leoda (Burton) Merriman May 31, 1952.

He served in the United States Army as a tank driver in the Korean War.

He was a retired payroll supervisor for Allison's Transmission, Indianapolis.

He survived by his sons, David Wayne Merriman, Greenwood, and Ralph Merriman, Indianapolis; a brother Clarence Merriman Jr., Whiteland; three sisters, Rose Beauchamp, Cloverdale, Marie Fischel, Helmsberg, and Ester Teague, Waynetown, Mo.; nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, and parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Susan Ann Green, and his son, Charles E. Merriman.

Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18 at Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time.
