Violet M. Keller, 91, of Danville, died Sept. 3, 2015.

She was born April 15, 1924 in New Winchester, Ind., to Harlan and Nettie (Ozment) Morgan.

Violet was a life resident of Hendricks County, attending New Winchester High School and graduating in 1942.

After graduation, she married Donald R. Keller, who preceded her in death in 2003.

Violet worked for 20 years in the Telemetry Department at Hendricks Regional Hospital.

She and her husband of 61 years raised two lovely daughters.

Violet was proud of her birthright Quaker heritage, attending and teaching Sunday school at Danville Friends Church for more than 50 years.

She was certainly a community representative, giving her time and talents to many organizations.

Violet enjoyed illustrating a children's book, "Games of Winter," for Gail Tharp. She has exhibited and displayed her art work as many venues.

Some of the many organizations she belong to are: The Hendricks County Homemakers, charter member of Modern Homemakers, Girl Scout leader for Troop 8 and Central Indiana Artists (CIA).

Violet had many hobbies, however, painting was her favorite. She gave many of her paintings to the community to hang in the hospital and at various businesses within Hendricks County.

Survivors include two daughters, Mary Lou Hudkins and Darlene Keller, both of Danville; two grandchildren, Kathy (Duane) Davies, Kendallville, and Brian (Lisa) Hudkins, Danville; three great-grandchildren, Brandon Hudkins, Ohio, and Bryce and Brock Hudkins, Danville.

Two sisters and a brother preceded her in death.

A celebration of life will be held at Danville Friends Church on Sunday, Sept. 27 from 1-4 p.m.

Burial of her cremains will take place at New Winchester Cemetery at a later date.

Weaver and Randolph Funeral Home, Danville, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
