Ivy Tech BES Center to host workshops to launch ideas

Ivy Tech Business and Entrepreneurial Services Center (BES Center) located on Ivy Tech's Greencastle campus has announced the start of the fall "Opportunity Knocks" seminar series on Wednesday, Sept. 23.

The Opportunity Knocks series was created to develop and enhance the business skills of individuals who are interested in starting a business, formalizing a business plan or developing a growth plan for an existing business.

The series is created to be completed alongside fellow entrepreneurs building off of each workshop topic.

The series will conclude with a "Pitch-It" session where participants will have the opportunity to pitch their business idea to a group of community leaders.

The winner will receive a prize package to help launch their business, including a Greencastle Chamber of Commerce membership, $500 in radio advertising on WREB and website development and hosting compliments of 25/7 consulting.

Seminars will take place Sept.23, Oct. 7, 21 and Nov. 4 with the final "Pitch It" session on Nov. 18 (see website for a complete list of times).

The cost is $25 per seminar with a discount price of $75 when registering for the entire series. All sessions will be at the Greencastle Ivy Tech BES Center.

Seminar topics include: Launching Your Own Business, Research, Plan and Start Your Business, Developing an Integrated Marketing Plan and Basic Business Accounting.
