The South Putnam football team took its first loss of the season in a well played game last Friday against North Putnam. The Eagles (3-1, 2-0 WIC) will certainly be looking to come out on top against West Vigo (3-1, 1-1 WIC) this Friday.

The Vikings skated by North Central and Crawfordsville in weeks one and two and was too much for Greencastle who lost 20-13 two weeks ago.

West Vigo took its first loss against its division rival Northview who put up 55 points against the Vikings' 25. West Vigo then crushed North Daviess 61-6.

Not counting the loss last Friday, South Putnam has put up at least 40 points in every other game and has earned some big nonconference wins. Eagle coach Nathan Aker will surely be looking for his tough offensive line to plow a way for his running backs so the can keep the points coming against West Vigo.

Friday as the other three Putnam County teams are going to be on the road, Greencastle (1-4) will be holding down the fort at Robert Harbison field against WIC division rival Sullivan (3-2). GHS has had a tough start in coach Mike Myers' first season. However the Tiger Cubs have scored more and more points in their offense as the team becomes closer. Look for more offensive chemistry at Sullivan.

Cloverdale (0-5) will be at Brown County whose lone win came in week one against Edinburgh. CHS will look for its best performance of the season on the road.

North Putnam (4-1, 1-1 WIC) fresh off its exciting win last Friday will play at Edgewood (2-3, 1-1 WIC).

Edgewood's two victories came against 2A Mitchell (0-5) and Cloverdale. North Putnam's Hayden Rudes will be looking for big numbers when his talented offensive unit takes the field.
