Feel the Heat

Finishing the job started with the most recent drug take-back day in Greencastle, Buzzi Unicem workers Josh Duncan, Dylan Lawrence and Tony Williams incinerate the returned medicines at temperatures of thousands of degrees. Greencastle Police Chief Tom Sutherlin took the drugs to the local cement plant recently and oversaw the disposal. The arrangement with Buzzi gives the chief more flexibility than having to drive to the east side of Indianapolis to a Drug Enforcement Agency incinerator. The people of Putnam County will have another opportunity to turn in their unused medications from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 26.
