On a recent warm evening, a group of friends met at the Roachdale Community Garden to pull weeds, trim the shrubbery, spray for bugs and just make the garden an attractive and interesting addition to to the town.

The garden is directly behind the Roachdale Public Library.

The names of many former residents are remembered in the brick sidewalk and the memorial benches.

There was lots of laughter and good fellowship enjoyed during the evening. Following work and during a cooling off period, ice cream sundaes were served to every worker.

The Roachdale Community Library was an idea conceived by the Allen family following the death of Bob Allen.

Anyone interested in having a loved one remembered may have their name printed on a brick installed in the memorial walkway.
