Donation to Senior Center

After taking a vote in to disband, the IBM Retirees Organization (IRO) took a vote on donating the organization's remaining funds to a charitable organization. IRO representatives visited the Putnam County Senior Center Monday afternoon to donate $118.16 to the organization, the other half of which went to the Clay County Senior Center. IRO president John Davies (second from left) presented a check to Senior Center Director Sharon Pitcock. They were joined by Senior Center Board President Bill Eggers (from left), center volunteer Roy Giesen and IRO treasurer Russell Harcourt. The funds will assist the Senior Center with operating costs. IRO was created after IBM closed its doors in 1987 as a way for retirees to stay in contact. (Banner Graphic/Sabrina Westfall)
