One hour of code for kids coming in October

Tuesday, September 29, 2015

Coding for kids is coming to the library the first Monday of each month at 4 p.m. at the Putnam County Public Library. The next session is Monday, Oct. 5.

Registration is preferred due to limited number of computers, however, walk-ins are welcome if space is available. Noemi, a student at DePauw, will lead the class for youth ages 8-14.

Coding makes it possible to create computer software, apps and websites. It is a step-by-step command humans give to computers. The benefits of learning to code are endless. A few benefits are creating a webpage, inventing games and helps youth to understand technology in the ever changing world.

With the shift from textbooks to tablets in schools, now is the time to learn coding. For more information or sign-up, visit www.pcpl21.org under Youth Services.
