Barbara Ann Bridges

Barbara Ann Bridges, 77, of Greencastle, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 4, 2015.

She was born on Nov. 7, 1937 in Rockville to Alonzo and Lelah Burkett Harney.

Barbara was a graduate of Greencastle High School, and had been employed at Jim Harris Chevrolet; the DePauw University Union Building; was a house mother at Delta Tau Delta; and most recently at the Greencastle Walmart Store.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Barbara was very proud of her Irish heritage. She was the loving mother of Charles D. "Denny" Bridges and wife Tracy of Greencastle, Sharon K. Bridges of Clayton, and Gary W. Bridges of Greencastle; beloved sister of Dennis Harney, Sharon Gray, Diane Zimmerman and Bud Harney; and the loving grandmother of Jeremiah Bridges, Aaron Ross, Loren Ross, Thomas Somers, Carter Lewis, Carmen Bridges and Charlie Bridges; and the loving great-grandmother of Jerrod Bridges, Jacob Sanders, Jordan Bridges and Addalyn Ross.

A memorial service will celebrate Barbara's Life on Saturday, Oct. 10 at 1 p.m. at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, Greencastle, with Rev. Kelzo "Buck" Martin officiating.

Inurnment will follow at Little Walnut Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 11 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
