Greencastle woman arrested following pursuit

CLOVERDALE -- A 46-year-old Greencastle woman is in custody at the Putnam County Jail following a Wednesday evening pursuit.

Anne Owens was placed under arrest after a chase from Greencastle to Cloverdale involving officers from four departments.

At approximately 7:45 p.m. Greencastle Police Department Officer Zach Rhine was attempting to locate Owens for a welfare check.

Indiana State Trooper Sgt. Cory Robinson located Owens' vehicle on Manhattan Road.

GPD Officer Kyle Lee and Sgt. Eric Vaughan subsequently attempted to conduct a traffic stop at which time Owens fled.

The pursuit came to an end in Cloverdale when officers were able to block in Owens' SUV with their vehicles.

Other assisting agencies included the Putnam County Sheriff's Department and Cloverdale Police Department.

She was taken to Putnam County Hospital and later transported to the Putnam County Jail by Officer Lee.

She was booked in at 11:35 p.m. on preliminarily charges of driving while intoxicated, resisting law enforcement, criminal recklessness with a motor vehicle and reckless driving.

Details of the case will be forwarded to the Putnam County Prosecutor's Office for review.

  • THIS WOMAN SHOULD SERVE A LONG SENTENCE. SHE COULD HAVE KILLED SEVERAL INNOCENT PEOPLE BECAUSE OF HER DRUNKEN STUPIDITY.
