Good sign for city construction project

Tuesday, October 27, 2015

If actual signs can be positive signs, then things are finally looking good for the Vine Street streetscape project in Greencastle.

Tuesday afternoon, City Department of Public Works Director Brad Phillips reported that the streets that cross South Vine Street in the Washington-to-Seminary street area have been restored to their former one-way status after several months of construction.

Walnut and Poplar had both been temporarily converted to two-way streets to help with traffic flow in the area during the construction process.

As of Tuesday afternoon, everything was back in place to show Walnut and Poplar as one-way streets.

The areas involved are Walnut Street eastbound from Vine to Bloomington and Poplar Street westbound from Locust to Jackson.

Weather permitting, substantial completion of the Vine Street project was expected by the end of this week.
