North Putnam, South Putnam march on to football sectional title games

Two Putnam County schools are still alive heading into the sectional final round of the IHSAA Football State Tournament.

In Class 2A Sectional 39, North Putnam (9-2) defeated Paoli (3-8) by a final score of 40-32.

The Cougars host third-ranked Monrovia (10-1) next Friday for the title.

In Class 1A Sectional 45 South Putnam (8-3) picked up a 26-9 road win at Fountain Central (8-3).

The Eagles host No. 5 North Vermillion (10-1) next Friday in the sectional title game.
