County Jail

Six people were booked into the Putnam County Jail recently.

* At 6:55 a.m. on Thursday, Jeff Dale Hendricks II, 33, Poland, was arrested on an Owen County warrant.

At 9:38 a.m. William Hayden Leonard, 20, Quincy, was lodged at the jail on two counts of resisting law enforcement and reckless driving.

At 11 a.m. Janice Rene McCullough, no age given, Greenwood, was booked in by court order.

At 1:10 p.m. Brandy Weaver, 28, Poland, was charged with criminal conversion.

* At 12:25 a.m. on Friday, Jacob T. Wright, 25, Greencastle, was housed at the jail for contempt of court.

At 2:25 a.m. James Ross Page, 54, Greencastle, was arrested on a Boone County warrant.

City Police

Three men will be summoned into court following recent incidents reported by Greencastle City Police.

* At 2 a.m. Monday, Officer Elsiana Crosby made a traffic stop on North Indiana Street involving Jamie Traver, 34, Terre Haute.

Upon further investigation, Crosby issued Traver a summons into court for possession of paraphernalia and driving with a suspended license with a prior offense.

* At 12:35 a.m. Nov. 8, Officer Brad Hiatt made a traffic stop on Indianapolis Road involving Jay Scott, 36, Cloverdale.

Upon further investigation, Hiatt issued Scott a summons into court for possession of paraphernalia and an infraction of driving with a suspended license.

* At 12:50 a.m. Nov. 6, Officer Zach Rhine made a traffic stop at South Locust and Ohio streets involving Charles Behr, 18, West Lafayette.

Upon further investigation, Rhine issued Behr a summons into court for possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.

Seven recent traffic citations were issued by Greencastle officers.

* At 1:45 a.m. Friday, James Cooper, 73, Greencastle, was cited by Officer Matt Huffman.

Stopped on North Jackson Street, Cooper was cited for driving with a suspended license.

* At 10:25 a.m. Wednesday, Matthew Parker, 18, Greencastle, was ticketed by Capt. Chris Jones.

Stopped on North Indiana Street, Parker was cited for having no vehicle registration plate.

* At 6:10 a.m. Sunday, Jerry Harvey Jr., 37, Paragon, was cited for speeding by Officer Nick Eastham.

Stopped on Bloomington Street, Harvey was ticketed for 52 mph in a 30-mph zone.

* At 6:50 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, Taren Procter, 27, Greencastle, was ticketed by Officer Hiatt.

Stopped at Indianapolis Road and Judson Drive, Procter was cited for having an expired license plate (Oct. 7, 2015).

* At 4:55 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, Patricia Potts, 51, Greencastle, was ticketed by Officer Hiatt.

Stopped on Indianapolis Road, Potts was cited for having an expired license plate (Sept. 14, 2015).

* At 9:30 p.m. Nov. 6, Kelly Runnels, 51, Greencastle, was stopped by Officer Crosby on Martinsville Street.

Ticketed for having a plate expired for almost two years (Dec. 7, 2013), Runnels had her vehicle towed from the scene.

* At 4:21 a.m. Nov. 6, Samantha Surber, 22, Greencastle, was ticketed by Officer Eastham.

Stopped on Bloomington Street, Surber was cited for having an expired license plate (Sept. 7, 2015).

Sheriff's Department

Putnam County Sheriff's Department deputies responded to one recent property-damage crash.

* At 6:19 a.m. Friday, Kyla S. Jeffries, 35, Monrovia, was westbound on State Road 240 in a 2004 Chrysler Pacifica when her vehicle hit a deer.

Deputy Anthony Brown estimated damage at $2,501-$5,000.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to five separate fire-related alerts.

* At 7:39 p.m. Wednesday, GFD responded to a fire alarm at 626 E. Seminary St. (Delta Epsilon Fraternity). The cause of the alarm was not certain. GFD returned to the station at 7:51 p.m.

* At 5:34 a.m. Thursday, GFD removed a tree from 1121 Avenue B in Greencastle. The road was clear at 5:56 a.m.

* At 6:40 a.m. Thursday, GFD responded to a smoke scare at 1616 E. Rangeline Rd. A smoke smell was reported at the residence. The home's furnace was determined to be the problem and was shut down at 7:14 a.m.

* At 9:40 p.m. Thursday, GFD assisted a truck at 2200 E State Road 240 due to the vehicle losing antifreeze.

* At 4:55 p.m. Friday, GFD responded to a vehicle fire at the intersection of Madison and West Walnut streets. The fire was out upon arrival and the owner drove the vehicle from the scene at 5:02 p.m.
