Sunday, November 22, 2015

Inviting citizens to run, walk and trot together for our health and our community, All-American Karate Academy and Fitness is sponsoring the Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning, Thursday, Nov. 26.

The trot begins at 8 a.m. and the only fee is donated items for the Humane Society of Putnam County or the Putnam County Emergency Food Pantry.

This is not a race and all participants are encouraged to go their own distance and pace.

The event begins and ends at All-American Karate Academy, 1021 Indianapolis Rd., Greencastle, with a trot to Big Walnut Sports Park and back.

However, anyone wanting a shorter run or walk can turn around at any point.

The full loop is six miles, but the 1.5-mile mark will be noted so that people can turn around if they are wanting a 5K.

Items currently needed by the Humane Society include dishwasher pods, dish soap, treats (cat and dog), swiffer wet jet, swiffer solution, dry cat food, dry dog food, Swiffer pads, cat litter, printer paper, cleaning supplies, dog toys, cat toys and non-retractable leashes.
