Area children can receive free dental care on Dec. 4

Thursday, November 26, 2015

Local children, under 12, will have the opportunity to receive free dental services from Dr. John Wadas and his dental team at Dental Care of Greencastle as part of Kids' Free Dentistry Day.

Patients will be seen by appointment only on Friday, Dec. 4 between 8 a.m. and noon.

For more information or to schedule an appointment for a child, persons may contact Dental Care of Greencastle, located at 1012 Mill Pond Drive, Suite A, Greencastle, at 765-630-3170 or visit www.DentalCareOfGreencastle.com.

Nearly one in four children between the ages of 2-11 years has untreated cavities in primary teeth, according to the CDC. Unfortunately, children are not visiting a dentist near often enough to treat decay in its early stages.

"It's unfortunate that so many children have enough decay in their primary teeth that the only solution is multiple crowns or pulling teeth that can no longer be saved," Dr. Wadas said. "We look at Kids' Free Dentistry Day as a way to provide important preventative care to children in our community, as well as educate them on the importance of having a good oral hygiene regimen."
