Freda May Sterchi

Freda May Sterchi, 88, Quincy, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 26, 2015, at the Putnam County Hospital.

She was born on Feb. 2, 1927 in Seelyville.

She was married to Robert Harold Sterchi and he preceded her in death on Jan. 14, 1987.

She is survived by her son, Robert Lee Sterchi of Quincy; her grandchildren, Angie Purcel, Shawn Sterchi and wife Martha, Joshua Sterchi and wife Christine and Robert Yost; and her great-grandchildren, Sydney Purcel and Savanah Purcel.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Myrna Ann Yost Jordan; her sister, Katherine Smith and her brother, Ernest Lawson.

She was a member of the Quincy Baptist Church and O.E.S., Ivanhoe Chapter #151.

She was retired from Mallory's at Greencastle where she worked in quality control

Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 2 at the Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale. Visitation will take place from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 1 at the funeral home. Eastern Star Memorial Services will take place at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Mannan Cemetery.
