Mrs. Betty Jean Owen, 88, of Coatesville, passed away Dec. 16, 2015 at Hendricks Regional Hospital.

Born Aug. 22, 1927 in Coatesville, she was the daughter of Schuyler Arnold and Sadie F. (O'Neal) Arnold.

She married Richard Dorn Owen and he passed away April 13, 2015.

Betty was a homemaker and a member of the Stilesville Christian Church. Her hobbies included sewing, quilting, gardening and canning. She had a heart of gold.

Survivors include two sons, Edd (Becky) Owen and Richard (Sandy) Owen; daughter Melanie (Steve) Champion; grandchildren Suzy (Reecy) Dancer, Cheri (Chip) Ridge, Genny Owen, Tracey (Josh) Hesselgrave, Jeremy (Nicole) Owen, Michael (Ramona) Jarvis, Jacob (Stacey) Champion, Joshua Champion, Lauren Champion and Miranda Champion; 13 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Her husband, parents and three brothers, John, Ronald and Ralph Arnold, preceded her in death.

Cremation is scheduled and a graveside service will take place at 2 p.m. Monday in the Stilesville Cemetery. Bousley-Hays Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
