William Franklin 'Bill' Tomblin

William Franklin "Bill" Tomblin, 72, Coatesville passed away Friday morning, Jan. 1, 2016 at Hendricks Regional Health.

He was born in Metcalf County, Ky., on March 31, 1943, the son of Jody and Margie Garrett Tomblin.

He had worked at the Indianapolis Airport Authority, retiring after 28 years of service.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Carter Tomblin; sons Tony Tomblin and Jeffrey (Shellie) Tomblin I; daughter Rachel (Steve) Phillips; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters Anna Sue (Gene) Copeland, Minnie (Earl) White, Geneva (Tom) Kelso, Anna Mae (Phil) Ferguson, Diana (significant other -- Rick Cummings) Wilhoite and Linda (Randy) White; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter Alisha Tomblin and father-in-law and mother-in-law Alva "Fudge" and Bertha Carter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 6 at Bousley-Hays Funeral Home, Coatesville, with burial to follow in Clayton Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m.
