County Jail

Four people were booked into the Putnam County Jail on Thursday.

* At 10:23 a.m. Erica Kay Thompson, 38, Greencastle, was housed at the jail for theft.

* At 2:14 p.m. Joshua Allen Sebastian, 25, Martinsville, was taken into custody for battery with bodily injury and disorderly conduct disturbing the peace.

* At 2:20 p.m. Corey Len Duff, 38, Greencastle, was lodged at the jail for trespassing and possession of a controlled substance.

* At 4 p.m. Anthony Justin Dodson, 31, Coatesville, was booked in for probation violation.

Sheriff's Department

Putnam County sheriff's deputies responded to one recent accident.

* At 6:14 a.m. on Tuesday, Evan W. McGuire, 27, Coatesville, was westbound on County Road 300 North, attempting to turn left onto County Road 675 East in a 2000 Chevrolet Monte Carlo.

McGuire told Capt. Steve Fenwick that as he was turning, his vehicle died and he was left without power. The car left the road at this point, going up a guy wire and overturning onto its top.

McGuire kicked the door open to exit. He declined medical attention.

The car was towed. Damage was estimated at $1,001-$2,500.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department recently responded to three dispatches.

* At 7:37 a.m. on Friday, GFD assisted Bainbridge Fire Department with a motor vehicle accident at 2401 E. County Road 400 N.

* At 8:47 a.m. on Friday, GFD covered the Cloverdale Fire Department while handling a motor vehicle accident at 52 W. Market St. in Cloverdale.

* At 2:50 p.m. on Friday, GFD responded to a fire alarm at 303 S. Locust St. The alarm was reset and GFD crews returned to station.

Cloverdale Police

Two men were cited by the Cloverdale Police Department.

Nathaniel D. Sturgill, 24, of Grand Rivers, Ky., was cited for speeding 41 mph in a 30-mph zone at the intersection of Main Street and Market Street.

Matthew E. Salisbury, 22, of Bainbridge, was cited for expired license plates at the intersection of State Road 42 and U.S. 231.
