Garrett Jeffrey Elam, 53, of O'Fallon, Mo., formerly of Greencastle, died on Saturday, Jan. 16, 2016.

Beloved son of Evelyn (Robert) Kuhlmann and Lawrence (Jane) Elam Sr.; dear brother of Jerrold Elam and Donna (Marilee Richards) Elam; dear stepbrother of Brad (Inez) Pace, Bryan Pace, Stephanie Pace and Robert (Chris) Kuhlmann; cherished uncle of Cathryn June Elam, Drew Evelyn Elam and Jae Caroline Elam; dear nephew of Etta Elam Yeary and Ellen Elam Weiss; and also survived by cousins and friends.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Lawrence Charles Elam Jr.

Jeff graduated from Greencastle High School in 1980. He then received his Bachelor of Arts degree from DePauw University in 1984, where he was also a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity.

Jeff has worked for Commerce Bank in the St. Louis area for nearly 20 years.

He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Bears and IU Hoosiers basketball fan.

The family is being served by Baue Funeral and Memorial Center, St. Charles, Mo.

Gathering will be at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 520 E. Seminary St., Greencastle, on Saturday, Jan. 23 from noon to 1 p.m. Memorial service will follow at 1 p.m.

Inurnment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Greencastle.

To celebrate Jeff's life, a gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday, Jan. 23, from 4-8 p.m at Myers Market Conference Center located at 5 W. Franklin St., Greencastle.
