Faculty Select Series: Thomas King, tenor, and Vicki King, piano

Monday, Feb. 1

Thomas and Vicki King will perform a DePauw University premier of Libby Larsen's "I cried unto God with my voice" (written especially for Thomas), songs by Indiana composers David Baker and Ned Rorem, premiere performances of Al Benner's "Through a Baby's Eyes" and "In My Father's Arms," and songs by Nadia Boulanger, Samuel Barber, Leonard Bernstein and Richard Strauss. Featured on the program will be a replica 16th-century ottavino harpsichord to accompany a Henry Lawes song from the same era.

Storytellers@M2: PROJECT Trio

The high-energy, Brooklyn-based chamber music ensemble PROJECT Trio returns to Greencastle for a free First Friday performance as part of the Storytellers@M2 series, a musical mash-up of performance, artist interviews and humorous candid commentary hosted regularly at Music on the Square. The intrepid PROJECT Trio has been hailed by Gramophone Magazine as "an ensemble willing and able to touch on the gamut of music bases ranging from Baroque to nu-Metal and taking in pretty much every stylism in between." No tickets are needed for this event at M2, located at the corner of Indiana and Franklin streets on the Greencastle courthouse square.
