DPU student art exhibit opens Feb. 4 at Peeler Center

The annual DePauw University juried student art exhibition opens Thursday, Feb. 4 and continues through Wednesday, March 2.

The campus-wide exhibition, which is free and open to all, features drawing, painting, photography, sculpture, ceramic and new media works created by DePauw students.

This year's guest juror is William Ganis, chairman of the department of art and design at Indiana State University.

Ganis pens reviews and articles for national and international publications, including Artforum, Sculpture and Border Crossings. He is a contributing editor for Glass Quarterly.

Awards will be announced during the show's opening reception on Thursday, Feb. 4, from 4:15-6 p.m. in the Visual Arts Gallery of the Richard E. Peeler Art Center, located at the southeast corner of Hanna and Jackson streets in Greencastle.

The galleries at the Peeler Center are open Monday-Friday 10 a.m.-4 p.m.; Saturday 11 a.m-5 p.m.; and Sunday 1-5 p.m

Galleries are closed during university breaks and holidays.
