PUTNAMVILLE -- A female visitor was arrested Wednesday at the Putnamville Correctional Facility for attempting to traffic with an offender during a scheduled visit.

Adell Mabry, 39, of Indianapolis, was attempting to visit with offender Dennis Bretzlaff when she allegedly trafficked six small packages that contained what is alleged to be methamphetamine and heroin by hiding it on her person.

She was arrested by a Correctional Police Officer for engaging in trafficking and possession of a controlled substance. She was transported to the Putnam County Jail for booking.

The case has been turned over to the Putnam County Prosecutor's Office.

"Our staff did a great job communicating with each other and acting quickly to prevent this contraband from entering the facility," PCF Superintendent Brian Smith said.

Dennis Bretzlaff is currently serving a 912-day sentence for burglary and a 180-day sentence for escape, both out of Marion County, and has a current release date of Aug. 19, 2016.

He will reside in the restricted housing unit until an investigation is complete.
