Rematches at Putnam County boys' tourney

The Putnam County Boys' Basketball Tournament will feature a pair of interesting rematches when the games begin Friday night at McAnally.

North Putnam will face South Putnam at 6 p.m. in the first game. The Cougars have defeated the Eagles twice this season, once in the WIC crossover game at South Putnam, once in Roachdale and both times by double digits.

Greencastle will welcome Cloverdale in the second game. The Tiger Cubs earned the victory against the Clovers in Cloverdale, 75-67.

Greencastle (9-8) comes into the tournament having beaten all three of the other Putnam County teams. Cloverdale comes into the tourney with the best record at 13-6.

South Putnam (2-14) recently earned its second win of the season in dramatic fashion and will be looking for a win against its familiar oponent, while North Putnam (7-13) brings its four-game winning streek to McAnally Center.
