GHS musicians score gold, silver ratings at state competition

Members of the Greencastle High School Band participated in the ISSMA Solo and Ensemble contest Feb. 6 at Terre Haute North High School.

Those receiving a gold rating in Group I qualified for the State Contest Feb. 27 at North Central High School in Indianapolis.

The GHS Band is under the direction of Robert Hedge.

Here are the results:

GROUP III

Gold Rating -- Percussion Trio, Abby Walker, Josh Lamb, Sam Hagen.

Silver Rating -- Woodwind Trio, Mika Mozawa, Emma Wilson, Ben Parsons; Brass Trio, Daniel Williams, Donovan Asbell, Braden Pershing.

GROUP II

Silver Rating -- Mika Mozawa, flute; Ben Gellman, trumpet; Lokysa Scheuermann, trumpet; Addison Hughes, trumpet.

GROUP I

Gold Rating (qualified for state) -- Ben Parsons, alto sax; Connor Stimpert, trumpet; Katie Rose Parsons, trumpet; Mattia Seaman, horn; Sax Quartet, Zach Wilkerson, Ben Parsons, Kaitlin Kessler, Madi Woodall; Brass Trio, Mattia Seaman, Connor Stimpert, Nicholas Seaman; Marimba Trio, Alex Weliever, Kat King, Abby Walker.

Silver Rating -- Abby Walker, snare; Simon Foss, tenor sax.
