Edward McReece Modglin Jr.

On Wednesday, Feb. 17, Edward McReece Modglin Jr. passed away peacefully and surrounded by loved ones after a long battle with cancer.

Modglin was a machine repairman and retired from Ford Motor Co. in Indianapolis after many years of service.

He was a member of the American Legion, and of Hillcrest Baptist Church later in life.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and tinkering with antique tractors.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward McReece Modglin Sr. and Ida (Lichliter) Modglin.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Ethel (Foster) Modglin; five children, Edward Modglin III, Kamell (Marty) Betchell, Raymond D. (Angela) Modglin, Chloie Modglin and Matthew Modglin; 11 grandchildren; and a large extended family.

Visitation will be Saturday, Feb. 20 from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Hickey and Sons Funeral Home in Monticello, Ky.

The funeral will be held on Sunday, Feb. 21 at 2 p.m. Interment will be in the Foster-Clark Cemetery in Monticello, with a dinner to follow.
