Putnam under Winter Weather Advisory for Wednesday-Thursday

While Putnam County is under a Winter Weather Advisory issued Tuesday afternoon by the National Weather Service, a Winter Storm Warning has been issued for several counties in Northwest Indiana as a result of Wednesday's incoming storm.

The advisory has been issued for from 4 p.m. Wednesday until 1 p.m. Thursday.

Counties under the Winter Storm Warning are Carroll, Warren, Tippecanoe, Clinton, Fountain, Montgomery, Vermillion and Parke.

Joining Putnam County under a Winter Weather Advisory are Howard, Boone, Tipton, Hamilton, Hendricks, Marion, Vigo, Clay, Owen, Morgan, Sullivan, Greene and Knox.

A rain-and-snow mix is expected to change to all snow Wednesday and will continue into Thursday.

Heaviest snowfall is expected between Wednesday afternoon and evening, with 4-8 inches possible for those under the Winter Storm Warning.

Areas in the Winter Weather Advisory area could see 2-4 inches of snow.
