Dollar General to open new location in Cunot

CUNOT -- Dollar General will celebrate the opening of its new State Road 42 location southwest of Cloverdale in Cunot on Saturday, March 5 with free prizes and special deals, beginning at 8 a.m.

Additionally, the first 50 adult shoppers at the new at 4762 State Road 42 store will receive a $10 Dollar General gift card, while the first 200 shoppers will receive a Dollar General tote bag, among other giveaways.

"Dollar General is committed to delivering a pleasant shopping experience that includes a convenient location, a wide assortment of merchandise and great prices on quality products," Dollar General senior vice president of real estate and store development said. "We hope our Cloverdale (area) customers will enjoy shopping at Dollar General's new location."

Dollar General operates more than 12,400 stores in 43 states.

  • It may have a Cloverdale address but it's actually in Cunot in Owen County.

  • As a resident of Cunot, I will tell you myself and most others are NOT happy about this! If I wanted to live in the city I would move to Indianapolis!!!! It is a shame that the Dollar General corporation would have no respect for the animals it displaced and the local "mom & pop" little store that could possibly be put out of business for no reason other than corporate greed. This store will bring more crime to our community and more traffic that we as "country folk" don't care for! I will boycott Dollar General from now on and I'm hoping the rest of the community does the same, maybe they will get the message..DOLLAR GENERAL YOU ARE NOT WELCOME HERE, GO BACK TO THE BIG CITY!!!!!!!!! By the way, there is another Dollar General store just 7 miles up the road!

  • I am very happy to see this store here. I am tired of having to drive all the way into town for one item. As for the store on the hill, I will still go there. They have pizza, chicken, bait, beer, and fresh donuts. What we need is someone to have gas close!
