Almost Home to host PCCF Youth Philanthropy Night

Sunday, February 28, 2016

On Thursday, March 3 from 5-9 p.m., Almost Home Restaurant will host the Putnam County Community Foundation's Youth Philanthropy Night.

Local students from the Putnam County Community Foundation's Youth Philanthropy Committee -- Megan Arnold, Lois Cheatham, Ben Gellman, Katie Hewitt, Mariah Huge, Adriana Millican, Braden Pershing, Madisyn Smith, Trae Straziscar, Madison Trout, Rose White, Annika Whitlock and Zach Wilkerson -- will be helping servers that evening.

All tips and donations will go toward the PCYP Endowment, which provides some of the funding needed for the committee's grant-making activities. Since 2006, the Putnam County Youth Philanthropy Committee has provided more than $25,000 in funding for more than 50 youth-led projects in Putnam County.

The Putnam County Foundation is a nonprofit public charity established in 1985 to help donors establish endowments, award grants and provide leadership to enrich the quality of life and strengthen the community. Since then, the Community Foundation has been entrusted with more than 279 funds and endowments for donors, supporting a variety of charitable purposes.

Donations can be made online, by mail or in the Community Foundation offices at 2 S. Jackson St. in Greencastle. Tables for the event fill up quickly, and can be reserved at 653-5788.

For more information about the youth philanthropy program at the Community Foundation, contact Dean Gambill at 653-4978.
