CLOVERDALE -- The Cloverdale Emerald Command High School Marching Band has been nominated to represent Indiana at the Fourth of July parade in Washington, D.C.

Indiana 4th District Congressman Todd Rokita nominated the band and its director, William Cole, for the opportunity.

The band has received some donations making it possible to pay for the entry fee, but is still in need of financial support for the trip.

The Cloverdale Band Boosters are reaching out to the public for any assistance. There is a GoFundMe account at www.gofundme.com/cloverdaleeband.

Donations can also be sent to Cloverdale High School with instructions that the donation is for the band's Washington, D.C., trip. The address is: 205 E Market St, Cloverdale, IN 46120 (phone 765-795-4203).

Also, a facebook group has been put together at Cloverdale Emerald Command Band.
