Round Barn Daycare to offer drop-in service

Sunday, March 13, 2016

Parents and guardians in this community know the importance of finding a reliable and safe option for your child or children. Thankfully, many of us know who we can turn to for such support -- everything from reliable grandparents to helpful neighbors as well as quality child-care ministries and centers.

Sometimes, though, a last minute change of plans can leave parents or guardians in a bind.

Round Barn Daycare is starting a new "drop-in" child-care service for just these occasions.

Round Barn director Trisha Barger knows from talking with parents there are a number of last minute things that can change a parent's plans -- including changing work schedules, but also that winter bug that may end up taking out grandpa and grandma as a baby-sitting option.

"Plus," Barger explained, "we are getting more calls in recent months asking if we offer this program, so it seems to be a growing need in our community."

Round Barn Daycare's "drop-in" child-care service will begin on April 4.

There will be a $40 per child one-day fee for this "drop-in" child-care service, and parents and guardians will be asked to complete a registration form, including listing shot records and emergency contact information.

"Registration usually takes about 5 to 10 minutes," Barger said, noting that families can easily register the day of the drop-in.

Round Barn Daycare is also hosting open pre-registration for the service. Parents or guardians are invited to come in the week of March 14-18 from 8-10 a.m. Round Barn Daycare is located at 653 S. CR 100 East in Greencastle.

Parents are advised, though, to call ahead to make sure there is space available.

Anyone interested in knowing more about the program is invited to call the daycare at 653-5713 or to email Trisha Barger at roundbarndaycare1@yahoo.com.
