Ever wanted to learn to crochet? Register for a free six-week course taught by Jo MacPhail.

Classes will be held every Tuesday at 6 p.m., beginning March 29 and running through May 3.

Enrollment is limited to 10 and pre-registration is encouraged to guarantee a spot. Register at the circulation desk, online at PCPL21.org, or if space is still available, at the first class on Tuesday,

March 29.

The course is desigened for ages 12 through adult.

Participants will learn to make a variety of projects from hot pads/potholders, hats, slippers, afghans/lapghans, coats/jackets, purses or even cell phone cases.

Materials for this course are generously provided by PCPL crochet instructor MacPhail and the Friends of the Library. Students may need to purchase extra yarn for their final

project.

MacPhail grew up northwest of Greencastle on the Wagoner Christmas Tree Farm which her parents owned. She attended Greencastle High School where she graduated in 1961. She has attended Indiana State University and more recently Indiana University in Bloomington where she received her MLS in Library Science.

MacPhail recently retired as a reference and instruction librarian from Roy O. West library at DePauw University.

She learned to crochet as a child at the age of seven under the watchful eye of her mother who was a master crocheter. She finds crocheting to be restful -- a great way to unwind, and has made a great many items to give away as gifts as well as to decorate her home.
