Wayne Allan Tharp

Wayne Allan Tharp, 68, of Brazil, passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2016.

Born Dec. 26, 1947 in Putnam County, he was the son of Raymond Cassel "Tom" and Dorothy (McMahel) Tharp.

He was a 1965 graduate of Fillmore High School".

Wayne was the area supervisor in testing for the Indiana Department of Transportation and was to retire in June after 34 years of service.

He was a member of the Greencastle Church of the Nazarene and president of the church softball league for several years.

He is survived by his wife, Debora K. (Davis) Tharp; children Shawn (Stephanie) Tharp, Erin White, Susie Olinde and fiancé Brian, and Jennifer Tharp; a brother, John (Trudy) Tharp; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Travis Tharp.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 26 at the Greencastle Church of the Nazarene.

Interment will follow at Brick Chapel Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until time of service at the church on Saturday, March 26.
