Earl Wayne Crabtree, 68, of Rockville, passed away Thursday, March 24, 2016 in the V.A. lLLiana Health Care, Danville, Ill.

He was born in Cadiz, Ky., on Oct. 24, 1947, son of James Crabtree and Gladys Short Crabtree.

He graduated from Greencastle High School.

He served in the U.S. Army from August 1965 to January 1966 and June 1969 to May 1973.

Wayne had a passion for music, wrote and recorded, played many years in Crabtree Brothers Band with David and James

He is survived by four daughters, Tina Love of Greencastle, Story Crabtree of Rockville, Oakley Crabtree of Clinton, and Jena Black of Cameron, N.C.; three sons, Eric Crabtree of Norfolk, Va., Jimmy Crabtree of Marshall, Ind., and Earl Crabtree of Greenwood; two sisters, Pat Buis and Mary Crabtree, both of Greencastle; one brother, David Crabtree; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, James Crabtree.

Memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 30 at Butler Funeral Home, 218 N. College St., Rockville.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 29 and prior to the memorial service on Wednesday.

Military honors will follow memorial service on the front lawn at the funeral home by Parke County veterans organizations.

In keeping with Wayne's wishes, cremation was chosen.
