April 6 event to celebrate local history
"Celebrating Putnam County and Indiana," an event honoring Putnam County history and the State of Indiana, is scheduled for Wednesday, April 6 in the Community Building at the Putnam County Fairgrounds.
Featured speaker for the 7 p.m. event will be local historian Jinsie Bingham of Greencastle. Her presentation "Early Settling Putnam County" will address life in that time period.
Bingham is a long-time history buff who can trace her ancestral roots back to early Putnam County. As always she will give humorous touches to her topic.
Included on the evening's agenda will be Hoosier trivia questions and door prizes featuring Indiana products and authors. Refreshments will be served.
The evening has been planned by Friends and Neighbors Extension Homemakers with assistance of Club 16 Extension Homemakers.
The public is invited to attend.
