ISP: Operation Pull Over yields more than tickets

PUTNAMVILLE -- Troopers from the Putnamville Post of the Indiana State Police concluded their participation in the statewide safety initiative Operation Pull Over Blitz No. 85 that targeted aggressive driving.

The ISP campaign ran from March 4-27. During that time, troopers conducted targeted patrols and a DUI (driving under the influence) sobriety checkpoint.

The following enforcement efforts were compiled:

Traffic citations -- 775.

Traffic warnings -- 1,259.

DUI arrests -- 15.

Moving truck citations -- 113.

Police services -- 510.

Criminal arrests -- 131.

Felony arrests -- 60.

Crashes worked -- 15.

The majority of the criminal arrests were for drug violations and warrant arrests, State Police noted.
