Authorities on lookout for Hendricks bank robber

Tuesday, April 5, 2016

PLAINFIELD -- A man who robbed a Plainfield bank earlier this week may be responsible for three other bank heists in the last month, authorities report.

The latest robbery occurred Monday night at the First National Bank in Plainfield.

Police are asking for help finding a bank robber suspected in as many as four Hendricks County heists in the last month.

The latest robbery occurred Monday night at First National Bank in Plainfield.

Another robbery occurred last month at Plainfield Citizens Bank. In that case the suspect -- described as a white male in his early 20s, 5-foot-5 to 5-8 in height, weighing approximately 140 pounds with light blond hair -- handed the teller a note demanding $10,000 and then fled on foot.

The suspect was last seen wearing a black stocking cap, sunglasses, a black zip-up sweatshirt and jeans.

Authorities believe it could be the same person caught on surveillance photos robbing the PNC Bank in Clayton.

A fourth Hendricks County robbery, at the North Salem Bank in Danville at the beginning of March, is also presumed connected.

Anyone with information relating to any of the robberies is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS.
