Disc golf event Sunday afternoon at Big Walnut

Sunday afternoon, April 10 the Greencastle Parks and Recreation Department will be celebrating "Golfer's Day" Big Walnut Style.

The public will be introduced to the sport of disc golf and can explore Big Walnut Sports Park at the same time.

Registration will be from 1-1:45 p.m. at the southern shelter at the sports park, with a rules session at 1:45 and tee-off at 2 p.m.

It's not a tournament, but a chance to play with others and learn the game.

There is a $10 registration fee, which gets players a $15 glow-in-the-dark disc and a tee marker.

By reporting scores at the end of play, participants have a chance for an additional prize.

A closest-to-the-pin contest is scheduled and additional discs will be for sale.
