The Putnam County Public Library, 103 E. Poplar St., Greencastle, will be offering four computer classes in May.

The classes are hands-on sessions designed to introduce patrons to productivity tools.

On Monday, May 2 from 5:30-7:30 p.m., Introduction to Word Processing will introduce patrons to using typewriter-like word processing software like Microsoft Word and discuss cheaper and free alternatives to Microsoft.

On Monday, May 9 from 5:30-7:30 p.m., Advanced Word Processing will discuss more advanced features of modern word processing software.

On Monday, May 16, from 5:30-7:30 p.m., Introduction to Spreadsheets will introduce patrons to spreadsheet software, creating and using spreadsheets like Microsoft Excel and discuss cheaper and free alternatives to Microsoft.

On Monday, May 23 from 5:30-7:30 p.m., Advanced Spreadsheets will cover some of the more advanced features of spreadsheet software.

All classes are for beginners and are free and open to the public but registration is required since space is limited. Classes are two hours long with a break.

For a schedule of upcoming classes, go to the library website at pcpl21.org, call Mike at 653-2755 Ext. 118, or stop by the circulation or reference desks at the library.
