Sam Atwood was born on Sept., 23, 1997. Her parents are Scott and Debbie Atwood.

She enjoys eating dulce de leche cookies that her Area 30 Class made, and her favorite TV show is "Chopped."

Her favorite class in school is "any math class."

She set a school record recently in the pole vault with a leap of 10-6.

Sam Atwood: The best thing I like about being a senior on the track team this year is having people look up to me.

BG: Who are your biggest supporters away from the track?

SA: My biggest supporters are my parents and my brothers.

BG: What are some of your favorite things about your teammates?

SA: My favorite things about my teammates are how much they help everybody to do well and excel.

BG: What is the head coach of your current sport like?

SA: Coach Tyler is a unique person who knows a lot about pole vault and hurdles.

BG: What is your favorite school sports memory to this point?

SA: My favorite school sports memory at this point is beating my pole vault record and the school record of 10-0.

BG: What are your plans after high school?

SA: My plans after high school are to go to Davenport University in Grand Rapids, Mich., to study to be an accountant.
