Community shred event set for Saturday at GMS

Sunday, May 8, 2016

Free confidential document destruction and paper recycling will be available Saturday, May 14 when the Putnam County Board of Realtors hosts a Community Shred Event.

The free public service is set for 8:30-10:30 a.m. in the parking lot of Greencastle Middle School (corner of Percy Julian Drive and Veterans Memorial Highway/State Road 240).

Persons may bring any papers they want destroyed securely -- tax returns, bank statements, credit cards, etc. Paper clips, binder clips and staples can be left in place. However, papers should be removed from plastic binders.

The shredding is done on-site while persons watch. All shredded paper is then recycled.

The process works like this: Simply drive up and your items will be unloaded, persons don't even need to leave their car. A certificate of destruction will be provided if required.

The event is sponsored by Earl & Co. CPA, Greencastle, and the Putnam County Board of Realtors.

Donations to the Putnam County Board of Realtors Scholarship Fund will be accepted at time of service.

Persons may call 720-2091 for more information.
